Introduction

BillPoint is a platform that allows users to pay bills and access services like flights, hotels, and transportation. I designed both the mobile and web experiences to be intuitive, visually clear, and seamless, ensuring users could quickly complete transactions and explore all services.

Challenge

Bill payments in Nigeria are often scattered across multiple platforms, each with different flows, interfaces, and reliability. Users jump between apps for airtime, utilities, flights, and transport, creating confusion and inconsistent experiences.
The challenge was to bring all essential services into one unified app, simplify the journey end-to-end, and make everyday transactions feel fast, trustworthy, and effortless.

Research & Insight

To understand what needed improvement, I conducted desk research and explored existing patterns across top competitor fintech apps.

This included:

PalmPay: Feature-rich with rewards, but can feel overwhelming for quick tasks.
Opay: Offers multiple services, yet key actions sometimes require too many steps.
Chipper Cash: Simple and reliable payments, but limited in advanced services like travel.
Paystack: Polished UX, but geared more toward merchant payments than personal use.

Solution

Designed intuitive dashboards that showcase bill payments and other services clearly.
Streamlined navigation flows for mobile and web to reduce friction.
Optimized transaction flows to make payments fast, secure, and reliable.
Implemented visual hierarchy and micro-interactions to guide users through tasks.
Maintained brand consistency and modern aesthetics across all screens.
